I’ve just been asked by an older friend (a leader in our Church) for three things that today’s 15-30 year-olds need to find if Church is to work for them. I’ve been leading a teenagers cell group (with others) since I was in my mid teens, and I thought it may be worth sharing my thoughts.
- Cell groups. It’s so important to have something that people feel part of- more than friendship, but still relaxed.
- Young men need a challenge. Make them dizzy with all the trust you show them. I can’t stress this one enough.
- They don’t need older folk to get all ‘youfy’- baseball caps & skateboards, they need the security of older friends. Love is relevant.
That sums up what won my heart.
